So Brittany knows that if she can show Santana that it's okay for Kurt, the physical embodiment of all of Santana's fears about coming out, to be out and proud at McKinley--that it's okay to be a unicorn--then Santana won't be so afraid anymore. If Kurt wins the approval of the student body, then Santana wins, too. And Brittany wants that so much. She's been thinking about it all year guys, ever since that day by the lockers. It's been eating her up to see Santana flinch every time somebody bullies Kurt, and now Brittany finally has a chance to do something about it. That girl is a genius... and especially because, in the end, she realizes that she can be just as effective a symbol to Santana as Kurt, if not more so. The whole 'look where that's got us' thing about having so many guy class presidents? That totally applies to Brittana's situation; they're lesbians who need a different sort of visibility than Kurt can provide them as a gay man. They need to represent themselves--and Brittany's going to do it. Goddamn it, Brittany Susan Pierce is a genius. She's a unicorn. She's going to get her girl.
