* THEY DANCE TOGETHER ON TABLES
* THEY LINK ARMS
* THEY LINK ARMS WHILE TALKING ABOUT THEIR FUCKING FUTURE
THEY JUST LOVE EACH OTHER, OKAY? IT’S ON, IT’S ON, IT’S ON!

Sneaky!straight high five, Anon! Brittana is an equal opportunity ship because it’s just that damn awesome.

Hey, Nicole! Aristotle “Telly” Kousakis is a staff assistant on the Glee set. While he works with everyone on the show, he’s particularly close with HeYa and Kevin. This is his blog, if you want to follow him.

Aw! This Ask makes me feel all fuzzy inside, particularly the AP part. Good luck with your AP classes! *internet hugs*

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SPOILER-FREE ASK!
Well, Anon, with RIB one can never be certain.
I can only hope that RIB plan to address some of Quinn’s repressed rage issues stemming from Seasons One and Two (“I’m furious!,” “I seriously wanted to punch both of you,” “… but now I pretty much feel like punching you every time you open your mouth,” “I think I’m having post traumatic stress disorder,” “You’re so frustrating!,” “I don’t care about some stupid show choir competition!,” etc.), and the underlying heartbreak that goes with them (“So why can’t we have our dreams come true?,” “I just want somebody to love me”), a la what alittlefoolish is doing in her fiction, but that’s just a hope at this point.
Based on the spoilers, it sounds like Quinn quits the glee club, at least temporarily, which is a move I actually really like with her. Frankly, it seems only natural. Because, really? For as much as New Directions talks a good talk about being a family and accepting everyone and always being there for each other, they don’t always follow through on that rap, particularly when it comes to their more prickly members, such as Quinn and Santana, whose behavior makes them “difficult to love.”
At this point, glee club is just a sore spot for Quinn—a reminder that even the people who should love her are so wrapped up in their own lives that they don’t notice her suffering in plain sight right next to them.
New Directions needs to prove to Quinn that they actually care about her—and I would hope that it takes more than just a song and a speech on their parts to do so (i.e., that the Punk!Quinn storyline carries for more than just one episode).
The spoilers mention Rachel reaching out to Quinn, and, if that’s the case, then I’m all for it. I also hope that Brittana continue to support Quinn the way that they did during 2x22, even though they rejoin Cheerios and she, apparently, doesn’t. Quinn needs real friends like woah, and RIB need to give them to her.
Edit: “Quinn needs real friends like woah, and RIB need to acknowledge they’ve already created friendships for her in the past and have other good potential friendships in place for her, including those with Rachel, Brittana, and, hell, Mercedes… you know, because Quinn lived with Mercedes, who took her in when she was homeless, RIB? You remember that, right?”
… which brings us to Quinndependence.
In the past, Quinn tried to fill the gaping hole in her life—i.e., the lack of love from her parents, her peers, teachers, etc.—with superfluous “romantic” relationships, but because she could never truly invest her heart in those relationships, whether it were with Finn or Puck or Sam, and various other mitigating factors, such as Finn’s inability to choose between Quinn and Rachel, her relationships always imploded.
In some circles, the definition of “insanity” is doing the same thing over and over again without changing anything and expecting to see different results.
So.
Quinn needs to stop doing what she’s done in the past, and that means that she needs to stop dating around until she figures her shit out and learns to love herself, just like Santana needs to learn to love herself before she dates Brittany.
Having friends would help Quinn with her self-esteem; it would help her to feel comfortable enough with herself to really accept who she is and realize that she is, in fact, more than good enough for whatever the hell it is she wants to do with her life.
Having a boyfriend? Not so much.
So, yeah… I have no idea what RIB plan to do with Punk!Quinn, but, in a perfect world, I would hope to see them use this storyline as a vehicle to work through Quinn’s various issues and ultimately move Quinn towards real happiness.
And if Quinn gets to act all badass while she’s at it? All the better.
One can only hope that Shelby Corcoran’s return to Glee will also signal the return of Beth so that Quinn can actually get some closure on that chapter of her life.
One can also only hope that Quinn and Puck will finally get to talk about the fact that they had a daughter together at some point, maybe while taking a smoke break behind the school.
One can also only hope that RIB choose to focus on the relationships that Quinn already has in her life rather than expending a lot of energy crafting superfluous “friendships” between Quinn and random new characters.
(I don’t mind if Quinn hangs out with Sheila or whatever, but if we never get to see Unholy Trinity or Quinncedes friendship again because of that, I’m gonna be hella sad…)
Anyway, I ship Quinndependence like woah… also, I think that Di looks pretty kickass with pink hair. That being said, I’m excited to see what happens with Quinn this season. I think RIB have set her up for some good development, if only they would capitalize on it.
Bring on Punk!Quinn, bring on Quinndependence, bring on Quinn having real friends who support her, bring on Quinn learning to love herself!
Also, bonus points if Quinn sings “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett at some point.
Thanks for writing in, Anon! I don’t analyze Quinn, but I do have a lot of Quinn feelings. I just hope that RIB don’t fuck with her again this year for the sake of contriving the plots-of-the-day, yeah?
So remember that one time I was gonna answer my Asks? Being that I cancelled my office hours today, I actually had some time to do so. Huzzah! Now I’m mostly caught up… mostly.

That is so sweet. Between your message and the Ian Brennan quote from this morning, I think I’ll have a smile on my face all day. I love this fandom and how kind everyone is here. Thank you for being part of that!

Totally, Anon. It’s just so Brittany and so perfect. She packs her own lunches. Gah! Feelings.

Otherwise known as: “In which everything is Brittana and nothing hurts.”

Did anyone else notice how amazing Brittany is in the 2x20 Prom Queen episode?
First of all, there’s the “I’m going to dance with other people’s dates” thing. It seems like Mercedes’s experience - wanting a traditional and perfect prom night - is shared by a lot of people, both on Glee and in…
